Thankfully, there are so many options for people who want some help for their upcoming event: friends, family, and extremely talented event professionals (your vendors, venues, event planners, and event designers). As this industry as continued to grow, we have witness a new trend of many venues offering a "day-of planner." For many people, it's extremely helpful (not too mention far less stressful) to have that go-to person overseeing things for the big day. However, the title itself can be misleading. As a result, WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) issued the following statement:
So for those of you considering hiring a "day-of" planner/coordinator, make sure you understand exactly what responsibilities (or lack there-of) you are paying for. It is important to have realistic expectations for your entire wedding team.
